Senior wellness program ideas in St. Louis

According to leading experts, one of the best healthy living tips for seniors is to join a group exercise class.

Population Health Management Journal found that seniors who participate in organized fitness activities stick to an exercise program longer and enjoy better mental and physical health. In addition, if you’re working toward specific weight loss goals, you’re 42 percent more likely to hit and maintain your ideal weight when compared to working out alone.

Why? According to the Journal of Social Sciences, it’s the social aspect of exercising. By joining a group class, we’re more likely to mirror the exercise behaviors of our friends and stay accountable when the couch and TV are calling our names.
